Terms of Service
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms cover the Cafe Hop app for hoppers, Cafe Hop Manager for café teams, and Cafe Hop Scout for scouts. Using any of them means you accept them. We've tried to write them like a person.
Who you're dealing with
Cafe Hop is operated from Kathmandu, Nepal. “We” and “us” mean Cafe Hop; “you” means you. How we handle your data is in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Your account
- Give us real details. We use your phone number and email to reach you about your own account.
- One account per person. Don’t share it, and don’t use someone else’s.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else is in it, tell us at admin@cafehop.appand we’ll kill the sessions.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We can close an account too, see Ending it.
What Cafe Hop actually is
We help you find cafés, and we arrange a Cafe Hop discount that the café honours at its own till. We are not the café. We don’t cook the food, pour the coffee, set the prices or own the tables.
- The discount is offered by the café and applied by the café’s staff when you show you’re a hopper. If a café won’t honour it, tell us and we’ll take it up with them, but your bill is between you and them.
- Menus, prices, opening hours and photos come from the café or from a scout who visited it. We try to keep them straight and we can’t promise they’re perfect on any given day.
- A reservation made through Cafe Hop is a request to the café. The café confirms it and the café keeps it.
Beans
Beans are points. You earn them for things like logging a visit, and you spend them in the in-app store.
Beans are not money. They have no cash value, you can’t buy them, you can’t sell or transfer them, and you can’t cash them out. If your account closes, your Beans go with it.
- We can change what Beans cost, what they earn and what they buy. If we’re cutting the value of Beans you already hold, we’ll say so in the app first.
- Beans earned by faking visits, scripting the app, or working a loophole get removed, and we may close the account.
What you post
Your spills, yaps, ratings and photos stay yours. By posting them you give us permission to show them in the apps and to use them to promote Cafe Hop and the café in question. You can delete a post, and deleting your account disconnects your posts from you.
Don’t post:
- Someone else’s photos or writing, or anything you don’t have the right to put up.
- Abuse, harassment, slurs, threats, or anything sexual involving minors.
- Reviews you were paid for, reviews of your own café, or a pile of fake accounts pointed at a competitor.
- Someone’s private information.
We can take a post down and we can suspend an account over it. If we remove something of yours and you think we got it wrong, email us.
If you run a café
Cafe Hop Manager is business software we licence to your café for as long as the café is on Cafe Hop.
- Your café’s data is your café’s. We hold and process it to run the service for you, and we don’t use it to compete with you.
- Accurate menus, prices, tax settings and VAT invoices are the café’s responsibility. We give you the tools and the audit trail; we are not your accountant and we don’t file your returns.
- Honour the Cafe Hop discount you agreed to. Repeatedly refusing it at the till is grounds for removal.
- Keep your staff accounts current. Anyone you give a login can see what that role can see, including customer and sales data, and that’s on you to manage.
- Issued VAT invoices can’t be edited or deleted, by you or by us. Corrections go through a credit or debit note, the way the law requires.
If you're a scout
Scouts enrol cafés onto Cafe Hop and earn a share of what those cafés generate. The specifics, your rate, how long it runs and when it pays, are in your scout agreement, and that agreement wins over anything general said here.
- Being a scout is not employment. You’re working for yourself and you handle your own tax.
- Only submit cafés you’ve actually been to, with photos you actually took and details you actually checked. Invented or duplicated venues don’t earn, and they end the arrangement.
- Don’t promise a café anything on our behalf that isn’t in writing from us.
Don't break it
No scraping, no reverse engineering, no hammering the API, no getting into other people’s accounts, no uploading malware, and no using Cafe Hop for anything illegal. If you find a security hole, email admin@cafehop.apprather than using it, and we’ll work with you.
Where we stand on guarantees
We work to keep Cafe Hop up and correct, and we can’t promise it will never be down, never lose a feature, or never be wrong about a café’s hours. The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for lost profit, lost data, or anything indirect, and our total liability to you for a claim is capped at what you’ve paid us in the twelve months before it, or NPR 10,000 if you haven’t paid us anything. Nothing here limits liability that Nepali law doesn’t let us limit.
Ending it
You can stop using Cafe Hop whenever you like and delete your account from Settings. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that’s being used fraudulently, or where we’re required to. Where it’s reasonable we’ll warn you first and explain why.
Changes
We’ll update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top says when. If a change materially cuts into your rights, we’ll flag it in the app before it takes effect, and carrying on using Cafe Hop after that means you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and the courts of Kathmandu have jurisdiction. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
